The Hanover Gallery and Queer Representation is an extension of the third chapter of my M. Litt Thesis on Erica Brausen and the Hanover Gallery, and examines how the Hanover was used by Arthur Jeffress and Erica Brausen to consciously support the work of queer artists. Much more room for research remains on this topic, and on the lives of the fascinating artists it covers.

This paper is indebted to the work of Guy Burch and his project, Queer Time, which you can visit here.
